Dog Food Recipes for Allergies

Does your dog itch and scratch and always seems to have some type of skin issue?

It’s very possible that it is his food.  I explained how a kibble nugget is dry, when in actuality that’s impossible if the ingredients on the label truly made up the product.  All those extra ingredients that the dog food companies use to pump up the nutritional values are a real irritant to your dogs system and cause a whole host of issues.

Soy, soybean meal, soy flour, corn gluten meal, wheat gluten and brewers rice to name just a few of the ingredients that commercial dog food is loaded with is probably the source of most of your dogs allergies.  Most of these are grains and your dog’s digestive system cannot handle grains.  Even worse, the soy based ingredients can really wreak havoc on your dog’s immune system, and actually have it attacking itself.  It’s very common to see a dog diagnosed with some type of auto immune mediated condition and the veterinarian has no clue why.

Grains are one of the biggest sources of allergies in dogs.

Dogs were not meant to eat grains; they physiologically are built that way, just look at their teeth.  Grains make up the majority of what’s in commercial kibble.  It’s very common that when dog owners switch to a diet of prepared meals using dog food recipes for allergies that they see their dogs allergies disappear.  It’s not only the grains or the soy; commercial dog food is loaded with preservatives, dyes, salt and additives.  Does your dog over eat, or is over weight?  You can thank those additives for that.  They are designed so your dog will over eat.  And what is he over eating? The very foods that are causing a battery of health issues, not just allergies.

Most allergies are easy to fix.  Stop subjecting your dogs system to substances that are irritates to it.  Dogs need to be on a high protein low carbohydrate diet.  That is what nature intended for them.  When you get them back on a diet that is more aligned with their natural physiology you will see the difference, and they will feel the difference.  

The bottom line is that plant based protein is not an acceptable protein source for your canine and is very likely the cause of his or her allergies.  Try using some simple dog food recipes that you can easily prepare and see if it helps.  What do you have to lose?  Your dog’s well being is worth it, not to mention how frustrating it is when your pet has skin and allergy issues.  Buying product after product and visits to the veterinarian’s office with little to no results is expensive and makes you want to bang your head against the wall.  And the whole time no one has ever told you that it’s probably the kibble your dog eats.
